The good thing about it is it didn't cost much. I am very much enjoying my car phone charger.
But if I wouldn't have known how to do that, I would have just thrown it away. Ok, the first time I tried to use this, I was almost unable to unplug the thing from the car outlet. So it's not so bad if you don't mind having to "fix" it yourself or just live with a plug that might take your dash out with it while you're trying to unplug it. The only reason why it didn't get one star is because it only cost $0.01 to $0.19. The part that plugs into the phone is just fine though, and it charges. Luckily, I had another car charger for a previous phone that was Cingular branded that had a very good connection, so I opened them up and swapped the circuit boards with my trusty soldering iron.
It was delivered very quickly. The only reason it did not rate five stars is because the cable itself is of less quality (thinner diameter) than the OEM cable and the cable is a bit shorter than the OEM. I bought the charger for a Nokia 6555 cellphone. I bought two since I am expecting the connector to fail again before the phone itself it put to rest ($2.50 shipping for each one delivered). Neither, in my opinion put it below four stars. The very small diameter connector on the factory-provided charger broke, so I naturally looked to Amazon for a replacement. I found this $0.19 charger and bought it right away.
There is a red light that shows when the charger is plugged in properly and getting "juice" which is helpful to know when you are driving that the charger is connected properly. This car charger for the Nokia 6555 works great. We have used it several times and it charges as expected.
I am very pleased with it. We upgraded recently to a Nokia 6555 and while we were at the phone store considered various accessories, including a car charger.Fortunately for us we decided to look online first.I was amazed and astonished to find a car charger for this exact Nokia model for less than a dollar;even with shipping it was only a few dollars. When it arrived,it looked more robust than I had expected and works just fine;this model Nokia requires charging every day. What more can I say.
